There’s so much history in Preston especially surrounding the Suffragettes. One such celebrated person is Edith Rigby who is famous for  founding a night in Preston called St Peter’s School, aimed at educating women and girls. She was also a prominent activist, and was incarcerated seven times for her beliefs. She was a contemporary of Christabel and Sylvia Pankhurst.  Today MH went to see her blue plaque in Winckley Square, in the city centre and learn about her life.
