Recently during one of the very few non-rainy days in Preston LP was invited to have a look around the nature reserve at the Intact Centre and see if he could spot the first frog spawn of the year by the reserve’s manager Ian. LP was highly motivated by this and searched the various ponds and wet areas before eventually finding the aforementioned frog spawn which he carefully observed then left to grow.
Afterwards LP was fascinated to learn how the area used to be a brick making factory and how, having laid dormant for many years it is now an excellent place for wildlife to live including three different types of newt, one of which has protected status. He also got to meet Dobby the cat who mostly lives in the nature reserve.
