Hawthorn Education works every day with young people for whom education has become difficult.
That practical experience sits at the heart of our training and consultancy service.
We provide training for schools, education professionals and other organisations working with children and young people, particularly where there are complex barriers to attendance, engagement or learning.
Rather than focusing purely on theory, our approach is grounded in what happens in practice. We look at how professionals can understand the reasons behind disengagement and translate that understanding into realistic strategies that can be used with individual young people.
Training can be developed around the needs of a particular organisation or group and can cover areas including emotionally based school avoidance, engagement, SEND, behaviour, safeguarding and supporting learners who are struggling to access mainstream education.
Alongside formal training, Hawthorn Education can provide consultancy support to organisations wanting to review or develop their provision. This might involve looking at existing systems and approaches, identifying gaps, considering individual cases or helping teams develop a more effective model of support.
Our aim is not to provide generic solutions. Every school, organisation and young person is different.
Instead, we combine specialist knowledge with our experience of delivering education directly to young people, helping organisations develop practical approaches that are realistic, sustainable and focused on improving outcomes.
